Woolworths Sda Agreement Pay Rates

The SDA recently submitted final comments that junior rates should not apply to employees in classifications 2 to 8 of the General Retail Industry Award as part of the 4-year review. The Fair Work Board made its decision yesterday morning. The SDA made claims over the penalty interest it received and defended in the retail award at Woolworths. These include: “Woolworths workers will receive improved penalty rates, maintain their hard-earned SDA terms, and all workers will receive wage increases.” In addition to the rates listed below, a new laundry allowance of $1.25 per shift ($6.25 per week for full-time) applies. The AWU (in North Queensland) and the AMIEU (Meat Union) have partnered with the SDA to reach an agreement in principle on Woolworths. Penalties for statutory holidays have been reduced in accordance with the Fair Labour Board`s decision on penalty rates. The proposed agreement moves from the current model of a higher base wage rate with lower penalty rates to a model with higher penalty rates and a lower base rate. The SDA is working hard to ensure that ALDI employees have a say in their compensation and under the conditions set out in the agreements. The SDA has been successful in its efforts to obtain overtime rates for casual workers in the retail, fast food, pharmacy, hair and beauty sectors, in a case before the Fair Work Commission. Stockland Green Hills workers will regain access to free and secure parking in the centre, with SDA, with the Retail, Fast Food and Warehouse Workers Union and Stockland reaching an agreement in principle. “The deal also maintains hard-earned SDA conditions such as volunteering during the holidays and a 15-minute tea break,” Dwyer said. No current team members are hired as shiftworkers.

Existing team members may only become shiftworkers by mutual agreement. The SDA, the union that represents retail, fast food and warehouse workers, won a victory for H&M workers after successfully resisting an unfair company deal within the Fair Work Commission (FWC). The Fair Work Commission`s decision to lower penalties for Sundays and holidays means retail and fast food workers will lose more than $1 billion each year without creating a single additional job. SDA members often ask whether “cardboard numbers” or “digitization rates” are enforceable, and whether they can be sanctioned or even notified if they fail to meet the goals set by management. In addition, the SDA conducts cases to increase penalties for casual workers at the Fair Work Board. An important demand of the union is to ensure that if we win these deals, they will apply to Woolworths employees. This rate of pay is used for new employees in hours without penalty rate and is also used as the base rate for compensation to calculate penalty rate rates of pay in hours for new and existing employees. The SDA has been in negotiations with Woolworths for a new supermarket deal since February and we continue to work hard to reach a new agreement that: Employers have filed petitions to reduce workers` rights to weekend penalty interest…
